Non-Degree Options

Non-degree students may enroll in courses if prerequisites are met, if space is available and both instructor and departmental permission are provided. UW ECE students enrolled in degree programs have first priority. This means we often find that there is not space available for non-degree students in some of our classes.

Undergraduate vs. Graduate Courses

  • Undergraduate courses are 100- to 400-level
  • Graduate courses are 500-level

What courses can NM and GNM students take?

  • Non-matriculated (NM) students may take courses from level 100-500.
  • Graduate non-matriculated (GNM) students may take both 400-level advanced undergraduate courses and 500-level graduate courses.
